Watch Dogs Dark Clouds is the sequel novel to the Video Game Watch Dogs. It was supposed to be released around the time of the game’s launch, May 27th 2014. It follows Watch Dogs protagonist Aiden Pearce and his old gang buddy Mick Wolfe as they solve the mystery of who made an attempt on Pearce’s life. The novel was able to be purchased in two different ways, the normal kindle edition as well as a special interactive edition that no longer exists. The  interactive edition of this novel seems to be lost media now.

The novel mainly follows Mick Wolfe ex-con, ex-Delta Force who is old friends with Aiden Pearce. Since the novel takes place directly after the first video game there are spoilers in regards to what Aiden has done in the events of Watch Dogs. Although it is not necessary to have played the game beforehand to enjoy this novel, some background information on the world of Watch Dogs such as ctOS and DeadSec will be beneficial. This book is written like a military thriller that takes place in the world of Watch Dogs with Aiden Pearce thrown in for good measure. Not the best work of John Shirley but also not the worst, you would probably have a decent time if you enjoyed Watch Dogs but especially Aiden Pearce (even though he is sidelined for most of this book).

According to Thomas Geffroyd the content director for the first Watch Dogs game, it was only natural to make the book digital only. Apparently the super cool guy edition of the novel has interactive modules with videos and images you can look at. If anyone knows how to get access to the interactive and illustrated book app of this novel please email us or let us know down below in the comments.
