For the Video Game A/V Club we decided to go to the theaters to check out the Until Dawn movie adaptation. First off it is very different then the game which I thought was strange since Until Dawn is very much a B movie style game, but the filmmakers have something different in mind. I would say this is mostly an Until Dawn inspired movie not a direct adaptation.
The movie follows Clover and her friends as they try to find out why her sister disappeared. They come across an abandoned visitors center in the woods and the whole groups gets killed. They wake up and have to do over and over and over again, trying to figure out how to break the cycle.
It a fun horror movie, very silly but also has extremely gory moments that had me looking into my popcorn. The cast is full of dumb teens, boys that care only about there love interests and girls that care only about there friends, you know how it is. If you’re looking for a shot for shot of Until Dawn the video game you will not find it here. If you looking for a short and simple horror movie with a few references to Until Dawn then you have come to the right place.
