Early on in Tom Clancy’s The Division agent Faye Lau points to a building saying “That bar behind that building. Best Whiskey Sours in Manhattan. If we take this city back I’ll buy you a drink”. I’ll do you one better and teach you how to make it yourself.
Whiskey Sour
-2 Ounces (¼ Cup) Whiskey
-1 Ounce (2 Tablespoons) Lemon Juice
– ½ Ounce (1 Tablespoon) Simple Syrup
-½ Ounce (1 Tablespoon) Egg White
-Lemon slice, cherry garnish a dash of Angostura bitters
Steps:
- Add whiskey, lemon juice, simple syrup and egg white to shaker, shake without ice for 30 seconds
- Add ice shake for 30 more seconds
- Strain into ice filled glass
- Add slice of lemon, cherry and the bitters
New York Whiskey Sour
Same recipe as the Whiskey Sour above but instead of Egg Whites you add Red Wine
-2 Ounces (¼ Cup) Whiskey
-1 Ounce (2 Tablespoons) Lemon Juice
– ½ Ounce (1 Tablespoon) Simple Syrup
-½ Ounce (1 Tablespoon) Red Wine
-Lemon slice and cherry garnish with a dash of Angostura Bitters
Steps:
- Add whiskey, lemon juice, and simple syrup to shaker, shake without ice for 30 seconds
- Add ice shake for 30 more seconds
- Strain into ice filled glass
- Slowly pour red wine over a spoon so that it floats on top
- Add slice of lemon, cherry and the bitters
For a non-alcoholic version switch out the Whiskey for Assam Tea.
Give a Division Agent a Whiskey Sour, and you get them drunk for a day; teach a Division Agent to Whiskey Sour and they are drunk for a lifetime. Enjoy!
