Menus or Parkour?
Summer Games Done Quick 2025 has wrapped with over $2,436,885 raised for Doctors Without Borders. There were so many amazing runs but since this is a week long 24 hour event I couldn’t catch them all so here is a list of the best runs (in my option) that I managed to catch at this years Summer Games Done Quick. This list isn’t in any particular order.
Backyard Baseball ’97 by anarchy
I loved playing Backyard Baseball with my cousins back in the day. This is an amazing run of an amazing game plus the commentary mimicking that of a real baseball game is pretty peak.
Blue Prince by BobbyBurm and RadRingtail
A Blue Prince Bingo run, with great commentary and great runners sign me up! I was actually watching RadRingtails (Myster Rogers) videos on the Myst series before watching this run so it was really cool to see him crush another puzzle game.
AEW Fight Forever by Porkchop44
S-tier crowd! Felt like I was watching a real wrestling match.
Sonic Adventure 2 by Emerldd and DawnSR
Another hyped up crowd! This is a Sonic Adventure 2 Archipelago run. They made the incentive to find all the hidden Big the Cats throughout the levels which adds the extra level of hype.
Casual Birder by ZeroCounts
This run made me want to get a Playdate! This game looked so good, and has an amazing art style!
Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater by ApacheSmash
This is a modded run that makes all the bosses and enemies invisible. It was crazy impressive!
Super Mario Odyssey by ZackInTheBox and Jambo
Another crazy impressive run! These two were locked in the whole run.
Spyro 3.5: Return to the Forgotten Realms by Wed
This is a ROM Hack of Spyro 3, its basically a sorta Kaizo version of Spyro 3. Which means its very difficult. I love that all the eggs you collect are names of people in the Spyro community, that’s very cute!
RollerCoaster Tycoon by Dynomation
I think my favorite roller coaster was Trans Rights 32.
Finding Frankie by Nerd_Squared
Love me some mascot horror and this one is the most parkour run of the marathon.
Community Clash: A Speedrunning Gameshow by bryonato and Viz
I wanted to add this game show to the list because although it wasn’t a speedrun it was fun to watch. I hope they do more game shows and little breaks like this in-between runs more!
The Megas Live Rock Concert
This SGDQ even streamed a concert and it was amazing to watch live! The Megas, sometimes performing as The Belmonts, are a Los Angeles based independent video game cover band. They are primarily known for their work based on Capcom’s Mega Man franchise, but from 2016 onwards have also covered tracks from Konami’s Castlevania series.
I’m sure there are other amazing speedruns that I missed so please comment below and let me know which ones I should check out. You can check out all the runs this marathon at GDQ’s YouTube Channel
Sad that we have to watch until next year for the next GDQ, but at least we get a Flame Fatales coming up this September. According to the game show I linked above there are so many speedrunning events that I should check out in the meantime waiting to get my GDQ fix.
