Savvy’s Top 10 SGDQ 2024 Runs (that she managed to catch)

I am a little late on this since SGDQ ended on July 6th 2024. But here is my personal list of favorite runs I saw during the event. These are the runs I actually watched all of and since this is a 24/7 event I probably missed a lot of bangers so let me know in the comments if there are any I should add to list that I may have missed. This is just a personal list It in no way means the ones I didn’t put on the list I hated or are bad in fact everything I mangled to catch on Twitch between working was amazing! This is not in any particular order, I just had to narrow them down to 10 other wise this list would be TOO LONG.

In case you don’t know Games Done Quick or GDQ is a semiannual video game speedrun charity marathon. The event lasts seven days and is broadcast on Twitch. SGDQ this year raised over 2.5 Million dollars for Doctors Without Borders.

1. Evil Zone Tournament Finals

This one was interesting since it was the finals for a fighting game that happened while SGDQ was going on. Some of the contestants are not even speedrunners they are just people who came to the event or friends and family of the runners. The finals were gripping to watch and the commentary was so good.

2. Sunset Riders by JaekRock and Space Coast Gaming

The bonus song they sing is delightful and so is their cosplay!

3. Silent Hill by DeathTropes

Amazing run! Great commentary! and the Cheryl jokes persisted throughout the event.

4. Ken Griffey Jr. Presents MLB by Peanut Butter the Dog & JSR_

If you saw the event at all you KNOW I add to add this to the list. Returning is JSR and his adorable dog PB who is speedrunning another game this year! Watching a dog speedrun is truly a sight to behold.
