Little Kitty, Big City is very aptly named. A little kitty has fallen out of his apartment window into the big city. Now it must try and find the strength to get back up. In order to increase the cat’s stamina meter you must steal and eat fish around the city. This requires you to solve puzzles by wreaking havoc throughout the city. Besides fish the other major collectable is hats for your little kitty to wear. These can be acquired by completing side quests or giving “shines” to a local crow at gacha machines. Although you don’t need these to progress the story they do add charm. There is no time limit so you can mosie around the town all you like. Besides collecting hats there is a list of little achievements you can get, such as getting pets or knocking things over multiple times. The game has a fast travel system via a petwork of tunnels run by a time-bending raccoon. Since this is a big city it’s handy to be able to traverse it fast and loose.

The animations in this game are amazing. It’s got a cartoony art style yet the animals look and move extremely realistically. Can’t say the same for the people though but then again they are just props in this kitty’s story. Humans can be used to solve puzzles and acquire items, this is how I imagine cats feel about us in real life.

The game has a jazzing relaxing soundtrack that really jells well with the big city vibe. Cute choice to make it a Japanese style city, very compact with lots of people walking around and very little cars to worry about.

I did come across a lot of glitches during my playthrough, none of them were game breaking but they were noticeable. A few threw me out of bounds and some “cutscenes” didn’t work properly but everyone’s game glitches differently so it might not happen to you.

Overall I had a lot of fun with this game. It’s not a very long game but you can extend your city stay with all the optional hats and side achievements you can get. Moving around as a spry little kitty was so much fun. I loved the little details in this game like when they called the sprint button the zoomies button. I can see myself coming back to this game if I want to chill out, I’ll zoom around town stealing peoples bagels. Little Kitty, Big City is currently on PC, Xbox and Switch
