Dragon Age: The Missing Review – Short, Sweet and a little Unnecessary

Should probably just read Tevinter Nights

For the Video Game Book Club we read Dragon Age the Missing, in preparation for Dragon Age Veilguard coming out on the 31st. It’s supposed to bridge the gap between Inquisition and Veilguard. The story takes place right after Inquisition, Varric and Harding are tasked with finding and stopping Solas. The story takes place over 4 issues, and mixes in characters from the book Tevinter Nights (which is on the list for us to read).

We know Neve Gallus is going to appear in the game which gives credence to the theory that other characters in this comic will also appear. The comic teases potential characters as well as tells us that Solas now owns a magical rock. It also shows us Veiljumpers and since this game is called Veilguard I have a feeling Veil Jumping is going to be an important element in the story. It introduces the need for the player character in a way since they need someone that Solas doesn’t know. This information seems unnecessary but it’s a good teaser for what’s to come.

It seems that the novel Tevinter Nights might have more substance and might flesh out these new characters. I’m definitely going to read that before jumping into Veilguard, so I can thank The Missing for letting me know that I need to read a different book.
