Horizon Zero Dawn The Sunhawk tells the story of Talanah after the events of Horizon Zero Dawn. Aloy is hardly in this comic, It’s all about Talanah and her journey and struggles. A new Clawstrider has appeared in the wild and she along with a new friend Amadis has to take it out. Amadis gets introduced in this comic and returns in the sequel game. It’s not an essential read in order to understand Horizon Forbidden West but it does add a little flavor.
Horizon Zero Dawn Liberation takes us back to events in the first game. Aloy and Erend are on a journey to get revenge for his sister. This was my personal favorite side story in the whole game so it was great for me to go back to it. The story is forced more on Erend and his sister Ersas backstory. Plus this story also ties into his side quest in Forbidden West. Both these comics are extremely good and recommended reading before you and Aloy travel to the Forbidden West.
