Deathloop: 5 Tips to Break the Loop

One problem I had with Deathloop was the tutorial. It was confusing and long and when It ended I had no idea what to do or where to go. I did a lot of trial and error in order to beat the game so if you are currently in the same boat that I was here are some tricks and tricks I learned over the course of finishing Deathloop.

  1. You can Co-Op (kind of)

So in the game you can choose to play as Colt and break the loop (which is the campaign)  or Julianna and Protect the loop (Which is online Multiplayer). You can set it as friend only and have a friend join you in game as Julianna. Normally she’s supposed to hunt Colt but you can make her help Colt. The NPCs do not detect her as Hostile until she starts shooting them so she can be used for Recon or as an extra gun. When you completed whatever quest you were working on in that level all you have to do is hack the doors back open.

2. Know what your goal is

This was a problem I was having throughout the game. I didn’t know what my goal was. All I knew was that I had to kill all the visionaries in one day. So I would just show up to each level, kill the visionary, then dip and I wondered why I wasn’t progressing. This may seem obvious to most but there is actually a quest list. It’s called Visionary Leads and it’s in the main menu and you need it to connect the dots because sadly there is really only one way to break the loop.

3. Julianna Invading can be a good thing

If you’re not planning co-op and Julianna invades don’t be sad this can be a good thing because she’s got the best stuff. Once you take her out she can drop Slabs that you can normally only get from killing visionaries but the one you’re mainly looking for is Shift which will let you zip around the map and you’re going to need it to complete the loop. That’s Charlie’s Slab so you’re normally going to have to kill him to acquire it and make sure you Infuse it and keep it in your left hand. The others are okay too I guess try each of them and decide which death’s your loops.

4. You can disarm mines and tripwires

There is a personal upgrade trinket you can acquire in order to disarm mines and trip wires with the radio but you actually can do it if you just crouch slowly up to them and press the interact button.

  1.  Don’t forget about your settings

There are accessibility options that can help you break the loop fast if you’re struggling. Changing the hacking to toggle instead of hold down for  less of a headache. You can also set how many times you get to restart before the loop resets and also one shot enemies.

Best of luck to all the Colts out there trying to break the loop.
